ABOUT ME

HI, I’M TINA
I am a mother of 3 grown-up children, a lover of nature and the great outdoors, and I am passionate about the environment and being as low-impact as possible.
I trained at The Massage Training Institute (MTI) in London. Since then, I have done many training courses all over UK, often gravitating back to Bristol, where I trained with The Bristol College of Massage and Body Work with expert and founder Andy Fagg.
In essence, the Holistic Approach means that we are interested in the whole person and how a psychological or emotional sensation or situation can have a debilitating or life-limiting bodily response.
I have worked to support clients with a range of physical and psychological difficulties, including those struggling with their mental health, and people with alcohol and/or medication addiction.
Massage can help with the rebalancing and resetting of the Central Nervous System. This will help calm the body’s fight-or-flight reaction which often shows up as feelings of nervousness, anxiety or agitation, as well as insomnia and depression. Calming the nervous system will also aid with the body’s absorption of nutrients as well as a person’s overall ability to handle life’s ups and downs. I am passionate about massage and all its benefits, my journey to today has led me to my commitment of a Holistic Approach.
MY QUALIFICATIONS
My background is in Fine Art and television production before I found that I had a real passion for working with the body as a template when I retrained as a Massage Therapist. I have always enjoyed massage and body treatments and have found my passion and strength as a Holistic Massage Therapist. The picture is in front of me, already painted, and I use my creativity to flow over the body, finding the areas of tension and pain.
I trained at the Massage Training Institute in London in 1996 and am qualified to Level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework. I have continued to build and learn every year and have added many other massage and body work techniques to my practice, which I use every day in my Holistic Massage treatments.
In my early working years, I did inspirational work with women suffering from HIV and Aids, with the pioneering organisation Positively Women in London. This was challenging and humbling work which also moulded my approach to massage, informing me in a deep way of the healing power of massage.
My toolkit of skills I use every day include Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Thai Stretch Massage, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Pulsing Therapy, Pressure Point Therapy, Trigger Point Techniques, Breathwork for relaxation and Pregnancy and Baby Massage.
SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS
Due to my passion for caring and helping people to feel better, I have also evolved to offer massage to clients who are less able in the comfort of their own home. To be able to give caring and therapeutic massage to clients who would otherwise be unable to access this service. Over many years I have worked with clients who have had strokes, spinal injuries and other life-limiting conditions. This service can be a lifeline to the client and their family too. I will visit you in your home to assess your needs and decide on a treatment plan and your goals.

“I have been using Tina for many years due to injury problems and physical work I do. She really helps me to feel better. She is like a nurse as well as a therapist. I would highly recommend her, book an appointment today”
